The Person You Knew

Do you remember the person you knew?
I would wait, dedicate, & think of you,
Before we were swept away in situations,
Before I’d chat online with many nations,
The breeze was calm; the sun was out,
It was you that it was all about,
Do I speak with honesty in what I focus?
Varying faith, from a cross to a lotus?
From confusion into clarity of mind,
In this present moment, I feel fine,
I may understand your position in life,
Most likely you’ll become someone’s wife,
When I needed a friend you were there,
That’s why I write this & that’s why I care.
