The Distance between Us

How could I have thought to blend it in?
I don’t know where this will end,
I’m not sure if a change will begin,
Yet I know I can call her a friend,
These thoughts are inconsistent,
A difficulty of patience & persistence,
A confusing lack of focus remains intact,
But I’m pretty sure I have time to react,
The voice telling me to not stay home,
So I’ll leave in an attempt to not be alone,
Natural laws in motion to keep me in line,
Words spoken through the grapevine,
A perspective of your true character,
You’re an actress, & I’m an actor.
